Curry Leaves Powder Oats idlis are a very healthy breakfast option as they are full of fiber and protein. It is also a great option for people who have diabetes. Diabetes is known to raise bad cholesterol and lower good cholesterol, which can lead to heart disease and stroke. So it’s important to maintain a healthy balance between HDL (good cholesterol) and LDL (bad cholesterol). Not only does oatmeal improve cholesterol but they also have a lower glycemic index that help to balance glucose levels for better diabetes control and prevention of related complications. Oatmeal has this effect because it increases the viscosity or thickness of the contents of the stomach, slowing digestion and prolonging the absorption of glucose into the bloodstream. This also gives the body a stable, long-term source of energy.

Curry leaves are natural flavoring agents with a number of important health benefits such as improving digestion, and increasing metabolism. They are also known to reduce bad LDL cholesterol level and blood sugar levels. Adding curry leaves in your food makes both healthy and tasty along with pleasing aroma. I learnt making curry leaves powder recently from one of my Facebook group friend Anuradha. I made it few days ago and kept it in fridge and I love it so much that I sometimes add it to simple dishes to enhance the flavor.

Keeping in mind the health benefits of this recipe I found it fit as my breakfast entry for ” DIABETIC FRIENDLY THRUSDAYS”  a great initiative started Sonal Gupta of simply vegetarian .You can read more about this initiative and learn more diabetes friendly recipes here.
