Navratri Fast Meal Plan-3

Jai Mata Di everyone!

Fasting is an opportunity to merge devotion with practicing a lifestyle that can help one detox.It is also seen as a way to give the body a much-needed break from the regular dietary routine. This explains the choice of food items that are light on the stomach, easy on digestion but are full of nutrients.

Much importance is given to the consumption of dairy products, fruits, juices and vegetables and few flours like buckwheat flour, singora flour,samak rice,and sabudana ( sago) pearls.
Another ingredient that attains great importance during Navratrisand has now become one of the newest superfoods is Ramdana popularly known as amaranth.

One more which I experience after 2 days of fasting is my appetite control. I feel less hungry now and more energized.
Today I am sharing my third meal plan for Navratri with you all.

Breakfast-
Chai with Makhana and Peanut Namkeen and some fruits.

Lunch
Sabudhana Khichdi with Chutney.

Recipe-
1/2 cup Sabudana
1 tsp chopped ginger
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 chopped green chili
1 chopped tomato ( optional)
chopped coriander
sendha salt ( to taste)
lemon juice
2 tbsp- peanut oil

Method
Wash Sabudana thoroughly till all the starch comes out. Soak it for 6 hours and wash it again.
Heat oil in a nonstick pan, then add cumin seeds, ginger, chilies and saute for a while.
Now add tomatoes, salt and cook for 2-3 minutes and then add sabudana and mix well.
Cook for 5-6 minutes on medium flame till the pearls become transparent.
Garnish with Coriander seeds and lemon juice and serve.

Dinner
Aloo Paneer ki Sabzi, Lauki Ki Chilke ki Sabzi, Rajgira ka Paratha.

Recipe of Lauki Ka Chilka sabzi
Lauki Ki Chilka ki Sabzi is a very delicious sabzi made by my mother.When you peel Lauki, Peel it with a knife and not a scalper. This will give you thick peel. Once you have the peel. cut them into small pieces. Cut 1 o2 2 potatoes as well.
Now in a pressure cooker add the peel and potatoes and little water. Pressure cook for 1 whistle so that it gets soft.Now for tempering, add oil in a pan, add cumin seeds, whole red chili, heeng, then add the boiled lauki peel and potatoes. Add sidhav salt and mix well.Add chopped coriander leaves and lemon juice and serve hot with parathas.

Sweet
A small piece of milk cake which we got from the Indian store.You can totally skip eating sweet if you want to.
